Clinicians

We are a small and friendly surgery with regular sessional GPs, GP Registrars and Foundation Doctors working at the practice.

Nursing team

We also have a nursing team which is made up of 3 practice nurses and a health care assistant. They are here to deal with a whole range of appointments including annual reviews of long-term health conditions, diagnostic procedures, and contraceptive care.

General Medical Services (GMS) contract

The practice team deliver a full range of clinical services under our General Medical Services (GMS) contract with NHS England.

Training practice status

Dr Berni is the lead GP trainer accredited by Health Education England however the whole team gets involved. The practice hosts GP specialist trainees (GPST) who train in every aspect of general practice. Some of their comprehensive training involve video recording of consultations for which consent from patients is essential. As with every aspect of patient records, confidentiality is taken very seriously. The recorded consultation is only reviewed by the scheme assessor.

The practice also teaches the fine art of general practice to University of Liverpool 3rd year medical students. There are certain skills that are better learned by doing compared to sitting in a classroom or reading a textbook. Medical students attached to the practice are always supervised by clinical tutors. We would also appreciate your consent to allow medical students to interview and examine you or just be present during your consultation with the GP. However, if you have any issues with seeing or being seen by a student please feel free to mention it to the receptionist who will notify the supervising GP.
