Mens Mental Health - Sean's Place

Sean's Place - Mens Mental Health Support Sefton | Liverpool - Sean's Place (seansplace.org.uk)

At Sean’s Place our aim is to improve men’s mental health and well-being across Sefton and Liverpool City Region through support specifically identified to improve confidence and self-esteem for men whilst reducing symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety.  Now more than ever we need to challenge the stigma around male mental health, we do this by providing a place that encourages positive discussions around mental health, in a non clinical, non judgemental setting through a variety of practical, proactive support and programmes.

We want to ensure that support is available at the earliest opportunity for men in our community, we do this by providing a range of practical, proactive support that is free to access.

Often in life we experience stress, loss, break ups, trauma and loneliness which can lead to feelings of depression, anxiety and feelings of hopelessness and despair, sometimes there may be no reason why we feel the way we do which can cause frustration and feelings of confusion.  The key thing to remember is that help is available.

Mental health is not a one size fits all so support shouldn’t be either. Often, we will all need a helping hand to guide us through difficult times, so we have a range of support to help:

Therapeutic Support– for those who need a space to talk and find ways to cope to work through challenging times.

Social Support– for those who may be experiencing isolation or feelings of being alone and not being able to turn to those around them.

The Medicines Management team have been sending a clinical pharmacist into Sean’s place each week.

A Pharmacist has been going in for a while now to informally answer any medicines related questions. For men who have a Sefton GP, if a specific problem is identified the pharmacist has the ability to complete a medication review.
